Katori Hall is having a busy season. She's the book writer of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical on Broadway, and she has a world premiere play at off-Broadway's Signature Theatre. Titled The Hot Wing King, the play is set during the annual Hot Wang Festival in Memphis, Tennessee, where Cordell Crutchfield (Toussaint Jeanlouis) is marinating and firing up his frying pan in a bid to win yet again. When his boyfriend Dwayne (Korey Jackson) takes in his troubled nephew (Cecil Blutcher), it complicates Cordell's plans. And true to its name, there will be hot wings sold in the bar at the Signature; anyone who eats 20 Memphis-style wings will get their photo displayed in the lobby. The Hot Wing King runs until March 22. See photos of the show below.
